The ivory tower

This following poem is a poem written as part of a poetry project called Poem press. Poem press is a project focused on presenting short but meaningful poems in a visual, literary and musical format. Poem about the ivory tower.

The place to be alone.
Cut off from the masses.
Minding your own business.
So why is this a negative term?
Why is this seen as bad?
I think intent.
Has a part to play.
You can cut yourself off.
Because you want to escape.
Lifes unending traumas.
Or you can temporarily.
Isolate yourself.
For the purpose of peace.
Of stillness.
So that wisdom can enter.
Your ivory tower.
